Prince Harry is a ‘spare in his marriage’ as Meghan enjoys spotlight, royal critic claims
Royal critic and journalist Angela Levin has said Prince Harry is a “spare” in his own marriage to wife Meghan Markle.
Prince Harry recently returned to London to commemorate the anniversary of the Invictus Games, which he founded.
After the foundation’s celebration at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday, May 8th, he reunited with his wife Meghan Markle for a trip to Nigeria, as she didn’t accompany him during his highly anticipated UK visit.
The couple spent three days in Africa to promote both mental health and the Invictus Games before returning to their California home. In the wake of their visit, however, royal journalist Angela Levin has criticized their marriage and the intentions of the trip.
Journalist Angela Levin claims Prince Harry is ‘spare’ in his marriage
Speaking on GBNews, royal critic and author of multiple books on the royals, Angela, was interviewed by host Mark Dolan. He broached the subject of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s sixth wedding anniversary, asking Angela how she sees their marriage at this milestone.
“Well, I think that poor Harry is squashed to pieces really,” she began. “I think when he wrote his book about the spare, he didn’t think that maybe he would be a spare now.”
“You think he’s a spare in his own marriage?” Mark asked in surprise.

“Yes,” Angela clarified. “Meghan pushes him, pulls him if she wants to go on, if she’s bored somewhere, as we saw in footage from Africa. She pulls him away and gives him a look, and he leaves immediately.”
She said she does believe he loves her deeply and wants to satisfy her, but ultimately she argues Meghan “is a very difficult woman.” Offering her commentary on the Nigeria trip, she said Meghan was ultimately “taking it over” in regard to the promotion of the Invictus Games.
“I think she’s a very powerful woman,” she added. “She has to win.”
Propelling her argument further, she claimed to believe a lot of the pair’s latest visit was an attempt to prove themselves better and one-up the other royals.
Angela reveals a statement from Harry made her ‘blood run cold’
There have been reports from royal experts claiming to know how offended King Charles and Prince William were by the Nigeria trip, as it wasn’t an official royal visit but very much appeared as one.
When Mark asked if it was Angela’s understanding that Charles and William were furious about the trip because of this, she agreed: “Very much like an official visit. Can I read you one sentence Harry said that made my blood went cold… He said that ‘it is important for us to meet directly with people supporting our causes and listening in order to bring about solutions, support, and positive change.’”
Diving into why she has such an issue with this, she suggested that it’s neither Harry nor Meghan’s job to “bring about positive change”.
She claims Harry’s statement means he plans to embark upon more visits with his wife in hopes of showing “that we’re modern, we’re active, we know what we’re doing, and we’re much better than the people in London who are old-fashioned…”
