The devastating July 4 floods in Central Texas have claimed the lives of multiple victims, including 21-year-old Joyce Catherine Badon. Joyce went missing after a flash flood swept through Hunt, Texas, while she was staying with friends. Her body was found days later, following a desperate search. Her family confirmed the heartbreaking news and expressed gratitude for the support they received. Three of her friends—Ella Cahill, Reese Manchaca, and Aidan Heartfield—were also swept away. Reese was later confirmed deceased, while Ella and Aidan remain missing.

Joyce’s final moments were described by her family as deeply emotional. She had been on the phone with the father of one of the friends just before the floodwaters overtook them. As they tried to reach safety, all four were pulled away by the rising current. Her mother shared a message of peace, saying she believes Joyce is now watching over them from above.
