When a young child at her father’s burial pointed to the coffin and yelled that her father was only sleeping, the guests realized something terrible
The burial went according to plan: slowly, solemnly, and silently, interrupted only by the priest’s remarks and hushed weeping. A white-lined coffin stood in the middle of the hall. There was a young man inside who had died in a terrible accident too soon. His wife was standing close by, looking pale and aloof, as did their young daughter, a two-year-old girl wearing a black outfit.
The young girl clung to the edge of the casket and stood silently. At that age, many thought youngsters didn’t yet grasp what death meant, therefore no one had high expectations for her.
The girl was taken closer to the casket at the very end of the ceremony. She gazed at her dad for a while. Initially in silence, she scowled before letting forth a desperation-filled scream:
