The decision to wear women’s anchors revealing clothes was made in 2016 and caused significant attention not only in Albania but all over the world.

The Better TV decided to imagine the lecturers who had released the news dressed in revealing clothes, often sporting open jackets with nothing under them trying to strengthen the audience. This approach was very unconventional, especially in Albania, a country known for its conservative values and a considerable Muslim population. However, according to the owner of the company Zyarr TV, Ismet Drishti, was a controversial format more than a mere strategy of evaluation. He explained that it was also a symbolic step designed to question censorship and political manipulation in the media.

Drishti defended the station’s decision and claimed, “In Albania, where the report is manipulated by political powers, the audience needed a medium that would introduce this information as – apply it.” He claimed that nudity symbolized transparency and said, “We do not sell S*x; We simply report messages as they are. It is a symbolic and good movement of publicity. ”

The unconventional format helped the Spring TV experience an increase in viewers and the female news anchors of the station quickly became local celebrities. One of the most popular was 21-year-old Enki Bracaj, whose engaging style, which often emphasized its cleavage, played a role in increasing the evaluation of the channel.

The rise and fall of Enki Bracaj

The Enki Bracai road to fame was nothing but traditional. After auditioning on TV in Zjarr, she secured her high-ranking work with an open blouse and immediately performed from other candidates. At that time, Enki was a public relations student and noted that she must be brave and offer something else to succeed. According to Enki, her courage was strategic – due to the risk of penetration in the competitive media industry.

Before receiving the format Braleless Enki, she consulted with her parents, whose support gave her certainty to take the opportunity. Although her bold style brought her glory, her time  on TV in the spring was short-term. After accepting a modeling concert with Playboy, the station believed it exceeded the line. Despite its popularity, the conservative nature of Albanian society, where Topless tan remains taboo, leaves the station.

Officially, Enki claimed that her departure was due to dissatisfaction with her salary, but the initiates indicate that the opportunity Playboy played an important role in her departure.

Mixed reactions and criticism

While the evaluation of Zjarr TV increased and the women’s anchors gained attention, there was no lack of criticism. The pictures and videos of Bravel anchors spread quickly across social media and have evoked debates on the station’s ethics. Some spectators claimed that tactics were nothing but the exploitation of female bodies to attract attention. One social media user remarked, “It is pathetic to accept something like that just to be on the screen,” while others described it as “disgustingly S*xist”. The controversy has triggered a wider conversation about how women are displayed in the media, and many demanded greater responsibility from operators.

Surprisingly, feminist organizations and journalistic associations in Albania have remained relatively silent in this matter. No extensive protests or extensive public outrage were found.

Leonard Olli, journalist and specialist PR in Tirana, suggested that viewers can simply “change the channel” if they do not like the format. But not everyone shared this indifferent look.

Aleksander Cipa, president of the Union of Albanian Journalists criticized the station’s approach and said, “Nudity cannot solve the media crisis, which will do anything to survive.”

Perspective

Greta Hoxhai seemed to have not got rid of criticism. She accepted her newly found glory and attention, which she pointed out to her role in the Sharr TV. In interviews, she often cleaned negative comments and instead focused on positive feedback from her fans. “What is important to me is that I am doing well, both in my work and in its newly found glory,” Hoxhaj explained.
