This time, Charlotte took on the legendary 1963 hit made famous by then-17-year-old Lesley Gore. The song, a trailblazing feminist statement of its time and a Hall of Fame inductee, was given new life thanks to Charlotte’s soulful twist—and audiences couldn’t get enough.
The moment she hit her final note, the crowd exploded, and even the ever-hard-to-please Simon Cowell was floored. “We’ve been wondering why the earlier acts seemed so nervous,” he said. “Now I get it—they knew you were coming.”
