On April 24, 2025, what began as an effort by San Bernardino school police officers to break up a student fight quickly turned into a violent confrontation — with officers themselves becoming the target.
According to reports and video footage, officers were called to intervene in a fight on school grounds. However, the situation escalated rapidly, with multiple students turning on the responding officers. A female officer was nearly dragged to the ground by her hair, while a male officer was struck multiple times during the altercation.
The chaotic scene, captured in photos and video shared by ABC7, shows at least one student pulling an officer’s hair and others physically engaging with police as they tried to restore order.
Witnesses described the scene as “complete chaos”, with shouting, pushing, and physical aggression coming from all sides. Several individuals involved in the fight were eventually detained, and no serious injuries have been reported — although officers sustained minor bruises and abrasions.
